AWEsome! TEACHER TRAINING WORKSHOPS

About The Workshops

Every four years, middle school teachers from Scituate, Foster and Glocester public schools are offered training on how to use the AWEsome! (Active Watershed Education) Curriculum for the Scituate Reservoir Watershed.
This curriculum, developed by NRICD, is a tool for teachers to use as part of an interdisciplinary investigation into the natural resources in the Scituate Reservoir Watershed. It is divided into twelve components that can be used separately.

Teachers participating in the workshops have the option to receive graduate credit from the University of Rhode Island. NRICD remains available to teachers, providing guest speakers, materials, and field trips throughout the years following training.
