Water Festival

LandWaterConnection.org - Scituate Reservoir Watershed Education Program INTERACTIVE LEARNING

In Water Drop Roll Game students pretend to be a water drop rolling through the watershed picking up pollutants left on the ground.

The Water Festival is an interactive event filled with fun and games that teach elementary grade students principals on water conservation and stewardship.  Relay races, crafts and stories are offered with prizes awarded at each station.  About 300 students participate on an annual basis.  For more information on how you can hold your own water festival call Gina DeMarco at 949-1480.   We are in the process of putting together directions and a lending library to assist others in holding celebrations.

The Water Festival is held in conjunction with the RI Drinking Water Week Celebations. Celebrations are held across the United States as coordinated by the American Water Works Association.

The Water Festival is held at the Providence Water Holton Water Purification Plant on Route 116 in Scituate, RI.

The celebration begins with recognizing the poster contest winners at a media event and is followed with the Water Festival and a theatre performance.
